And so the conclusion. Some of the details wrong but the overall shape of the thing. Well done. I did fall for his actually having a conversation with the gardener. I found these last two chapters a little easier. Still wrecking balls to my emotions but having Sawyer no longer silent with the weight of his tragic death as the only voice remaining from him, instead his own voice lovingly trying to care for Lock after all this time. Called back. That gave a little breathing room. The perspectives of their youth remain sweet and wonderful. And I am so glad that Lovelace and Lock could develop a genuine friendship. Before I decided Lock was a spirit himself, I toyed with the idea that Sawyer was actually Lovelace visiting the memorial. And after that Sawyer wanted to tell Lock to seek our Lovelace (though that was before they were friendly in the story and it didn't really add up at the time.) The spanking scene was incredibly beautiful. Erotic but also so special. They shared that with the three of them. The care for each of them at the end by Sawyer. And even Lovelace helping with the care with the water. Very touching. The trust and love broke me. With hypnosis in the bedroom to help Lock face the truth. Lovelace showing up was very touching. Lock's mother's attitude towards Lock and Sawyer's "close friendship" was rather sweet too. It is still so sad that they never got to have a life together, that they were robbed of that but as a consolation, being together again was something wonderful and the final scene was sad but beautiful. That Sawyer was always close to keep him safe as they swam into the night together. Exceptionally done. You have a masterful talent for playing my emotions like an instrument.

It is so wonderful to have them talk uninterrupted and touch. So very sweet. I shall type through damp eyes. My suspicion is that Lock has succumbed to influenza or something. That the commotion of the staff was the discovery of his body on the floor, not just the ink. His lack of energy I sure hope doesn't mean he managed to actually write that letter in the physical world. Sawyer and Lock being exorcised when they finally have found one another again would be even more tragic. The wind, though, subconscious not being able to hear of his own mortality just yet? Lock again needing to be coaxed like a cat from beneath a bed rather than confronted with a truth he can't face immediately. Winding thoughts. The flashbacks are so beautiful. Their sweetness together, mischief and playfulness. And Lock wishing to know all of Sawyer is actually really interesting. A show of love to reach into that unknown place. I am grateful for some of their sweetness in the "present" day as well. What great characters. I really love Sawyer most of all. He certainly was ahead of his time and taken all too soon.

I love this story so much! I especially love the way that Talley gets talked into the situation, the very hot physical descriptions and attention to physicality! Very mysterious doings are afoot, too. This is such a lore-rich world with so many things that make me curious to know more and more!

@time.to.occur The way Riki talks Talley into it makes me want him so much, even though he's a character I wrote! As much as I love Talley, I think Riki is my favourite secondary character in this story, and I definitely plan to write more of him and Talley, or even some Riki standalones.

Loving the lore of this story! Going back and reading previous chapters, there are even better knowing what we now know (well sorta know...I feel like there is another shoe yet to drop). You have been laying the ground work for all this from the first chapter. Let's be honest here, this isn't a short story this is a novella. Really looking forward to the next chapter because the heat between the guys is reaching a boiling point! Unruly

I love this story. The ways you're able to shift between the warring impulses of corruption and romance without making either one feel emotionally false. Just one of my absolute favorite things to read on the site. Wishing you good luck and perseverance because I know long narratives are challenging and hard to sustain. The relationship between Devon and Tony was wonderful.

This story leaves me a wreck. The care and tenderness of every beat. I hate it a little bit because I'm on the verge of tears. Every interaction with Sawyer in the memories, all the sweetness there hurts because of the tragedy of Lock's choice, his inaction, when his father discovers them. And the heartbreaking events that follow. Lock's mother's comment about the rarity of the closeness of their friendship. Another stake in my heart. Always wishing the ending could be different. And now seeing Sawyer in spirit form and he's still trying to help Lock. I am hopeful the ability to talk to Sawyer after all this time could somehow be a good thing, helpful. But that they can never have would could have been for them aches.

Likewise. Knowing the ending is not a happy one takes me some mental and emotional fortitude to read. But that, itself, speaks highly of the writing. Even in this period so outside the present, there is so much to relate to and anchor in. Well done.

As usual, this fairy tale keeps being as enchanting as it is seductive. Amazing job.

@Twan Andersen Thank you Twan! It was tricky dealing with sluts and keeping the tone, but I hope it worked.

This story reminds me of gay-cinema, there is such a deep emotion, a pain that's hard to express but you've managed to capture it so wonderfully. A wildly different take on the challege for sure, somehow you've managed to make this so grounded and real, and even the supernatural elements play into that. It's symbolic of their dynamic, they can merge bodies but there is a distance between them, and then the consequences of staying merged reflect how toxic it is to try to hold on to something that doesn't work. The ending is perfect for the narrative, there is pain, of course, but hope too, and isn't that what life is all about?

@Norismo Thank you, it's good to hear that the emotional parts worked. It's always the trickiest part about writing emotional pieces.

Everything about this story is so so amazing... from the interactions to the lore, this has got to be my fav series in this site, like damn does it hit all the buttons. I'm not much into polyamory, but this throuple reaction is so cute and hot at the same time. I really wanna know how you're going to take it here. I love how Xander finally opened up, and having a dom-sub kinda thing where they actually love and care for each other rather than just abusing and treating as a plaything just makes it hotter and sexier for me. Also I'm guessing maybe Allan too has some connection with the parallel universe (I remember he had a dream of the apocalypse)
