Rereading the chapter (and blowing another load over the description of Lane and Snake's enthrallment, that was Grade A writing), the terror and hopelessness of Tully at the sight of the enhanced/erased Murdock sticks out as a haunting image, a narrative warning that there's not going to be a clean, simple, happy ending, at least for Part 2. Whether it be humanity or the symbionts and their Hosts, someone is screwed. I remember you mentioning that you kept Tully around because of a particular tableau that you wanted to use her in. I have a feeling this is it.

This is great! I love how the various plot threads in the story are coming together so quickly at this point. I guess good things really do come to those who wait.

Yes! YES! To quote a certain cinematic evil overlord, "Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen." The Deputy is still the Deputy, but the bonding with the Great One still clearly overshadows that. He is in command, and he won't brook rebellion or disobedience. Bowden now comes off as a knock-off, the Deputy is much hotter. His subjugation of Lane was such delicious payback. It remains to be seen if he will be erased like Murdock was, or if he will retain his identity, albeit in unyielding subservience to the Deputy. Personally, I think it would be better if Lane was still aware, but beholden to the being he tried to dominate. The scene with Snake is what really got me hard. The sudden flip from trepidation and confrontation to love and adoration was so hot. And the echo of the sudden willingness to die for the Deputy, and the cry of "HAIL GREAT ONE!"... amazing. What a fool I was to think the Deputy would be a savior. A very satisfied fool. And yep, Vernon has his hooks into Rugby Boy now. Fingers crossed that we'll get to see the implantation play out. A nice touch of the soldiers coming to support the Deputy, that could be a fun little fight scene. And I'm fully predicting that the Deputy will transfer Rugby Boy's loyalty and adoration for Vernon to Snake, as a little bonus cherry on top for "fathering" him.

Such a great story! I'm beginning to wonder if this is going to have a twist like The Sixth Sense.

Confessions Behind the HAIL GREAT ONE! I spent days trying to figure out how I was gonna feed all those people! There were 200+ people on the Farm and how were they gonna eat? Who could afford that, much less to set up and run the meal service? I went through every conceivable possibility until it occurred to me that the Great One could simply rejuvenate them at the end of their shifts, thereby getting rid of the NEED for food. And if the "rejuvenation" put them a little deeper in the Great One's power? More's the better! HAIL GREAT ONE!

I've been hanging on every word in many ways, but getting to the "HAIL GREAT ONE" and the way the plot moved there really got me going. I cannot wait for the next chapter. Thank you for doing this.

Upon seeing the title I immediately recognized it was a line from one of John Dowland's most famous songs, [**Come Again**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Come_Again_(Dowland)), so I had to read the story, if only to complete the missing words. These historic British (or Canadian) stories almost form a genre unto themselves. I'm looking forward to see what happens (and maybe that's the completion of the title).

An awesome start to a very well-written historical fiction story! I look forward to future chapters.
